Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Bikaner, Rajasthan, today to inaugurate and lay the foundation for multiple infrastructure and connectivity projects worth over ₹26,000 crore. The visit represents a significant move toward modernizing regional infrastructure and boosting economic growth in the state.

Railway Infrastructure Overhaul

PM Modi inaugurated the newly redeveloped Deshnok Railway Station, upgraded under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme. The station has been modernized with upgraded amenities to improve passenger experience while maintaining regional architectural elements.

In addition, the Prime Minister virtually inaugurated 102 other revamped railway stations across 18 states, developed at a cost of over ₹1,100 crore. He also flagged off the new Bikaner-Mumbai Express Train, aimed at enhancing interstate connectivity.

Key Projects Worth ₹26,000 Crore

  • Development of 12 state highways covering 757 km, worth ₹3,240 crore
  • Foundation stone laid for the 58 km Churu–Sadulpur railway line
  • Electrification of several railway routes
  • Inauguration of two 132 kV power substations in Bikaner and Udaipur

These initiatives are expected to boost trade, improve logistics, and enhance energy access in rural and semi-urban areas of Rajasthan.

Strategic Importance

The visit comes in the aftermath of "Operation Sindoor", a military operation conducted by India against terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Bikaner's location near the Indo-Pak border adds strategic value to the Prime Minister’s visit, signaling infrastructural reinforcement and national preparedness.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma was present during the event, highlighting close cooperation between the state and central governments. The rally drew a large public turnout, with strong organizational backing from the BJP.
